We are the Simons family, a local family of avid readers and enthusiastic book lovers. We owned a bookstore in Washington state where we used to live. It was the best experience of our lives. We met many people, made amazing friends, contributed to our community, watched as kiddos turned from reluctant readers to voracious readers, weathered storms together, and shared our love of books with the place we called home.

When we moved, we had to sell the bookstore. We thought that maybe we would do something different here in Myrtle Beach, but every other opportunity presented to us could not begin to compare with the joy and fulfillment of owning a bookstore. So we’re back at it again at Back Again Bookshop (Myrtle Beach)! Back Again Bookshop opened in May of 2022.

Almost four years later, we decided to expand and opened up our second location in Surfside Beach: Surfside Beach Books and Gifts. We can’t wait to see it build and grow, and we are so grateful for your continued support.
